Wine purveyors at the 2021 San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival grand tasting
The San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival returns to America’s Finest City for its 18th year, with festivities lasting nearly an entire week from November 9 – 13. Named the #1 food festival nationwide by USA Today, the San Diego Bay Wine and Food Festival celebrates all things food, drink and sweet in epic[urean] fashion, with exclusive events across the city and its signature grand tasting event, bringing together some of the top restaurants, wineries, breweries and distilleries in Southern California and beyond, with unbeatable ocean views to boot.
While the award-winning festival made its official return in 2021, 2022 will see a full return to pre-pandemic status with a ramped up grand tasting at the iconic Embarcadero, as well as an array of new events including various wine dinners and interactive expeditions. Among these new events is Sunday’s Grand Fiesta, building on the already-spectacular [and delicious] signature Taco TKO competition with Latin inspired cuisine, wine, beer, and spirits in Point Loma’s Liberty Station. The Grand Fiesta will feature live performances, immersive brand experiences including a spirits of Mexico pavilion, unique wine and spirit samplings, and crafted culinary stations curated by award-winning chefs from San Diego, Baja and beyond.
For those looking for a truly international experience, The San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival also features an immersive cross border trek to Valle de Guadalupe, producing the only bi-national food and wine festival in the country.
And for those looking for an even more indulgent extended food weekend, this year’s festival will debut the Grand Decant LUX experience, an exclusive and VIP tasting that will only be open to 50 ticket holders. This intimate group will experience highly sought after cult wines and rare vintages along with music, private chefs, exclusive lounge seating, caviar, dessert, and a fortified wine station.
"The 18th annual San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival brings locals and visitors alike to sunny San Diego to experience Southern California's diverse culinary landscape and the flavors inspired by San Diego's multinational influences," said Michelle Metter, Festival Co-Producer. "Surrounded by beach towns, laid-back coastal cities, and bustling urban centers, the festival takes attendees across the city to experience San Diego's cultural diversity, buzzing culinary scene, and signature flavor: Awesome."
The San Diego Bay Wine & Food Festival is expected to welcome more than 11,000 attendees and highlights more than 60 acclaimed chefs, winemakers, mixologists, award-winning authors, distillers, sommeliers and brewmasters.
